From the Inman Blog, news that Countrywide Financial's founder and CEO Angelo Mozilo is entirely unapologetic about the matter of his compensation and stock sales. Inman says he was paid $43M last year, although Forbes puts his compensation at $68.95M for 2006. And apparently he's unloaded $70M in stock this year. His mortgage company's been affected less than some others by the sub-prime "scandal" and in May announced they would hire additional mortgage brokers and roll out new products, including the fifty-year sub-prime loan. 50 years. Nice suit, dude.
