Berkeley Green

Berkeley set out new proposed rules to dramatically reduce greenhouse gases as mandated by last year's Ballot Measure G. Stuff like no incandescent lights, free bus passes for rentals tenants (paid for by landlords!) Rules that could only appear in Berkeley. Solar panels? Everywhere, and not just in new construction. We wonder how they'll handle all those vintage brown shingles. meanwhile, nine thousand miles away in Seville, Spain, a vast solar array aimed at 40-story tower of turbines to provide the town's energy.
