Yabba Dabba Doo: The Next Generation

A friend pointed us to a recent post by Sue McAllister in Square Feet. On a break from pondering the mysteries of the subprime, she asks what's up with the Flintstone house in Hillsborough that cheers everyone's ride north on 280. Seems it's been painted terracotta. Her commenters come through with the goods, including a reminiscence by the original builder:

The design was too aggressively new for such a conservative community. I don't think they'll ever build something like this again in Hillsborough.Famous last words. The current owner has plans for a small, environmentally kind, and extravagantly baroque pavilion by Tsui Design, above.
