Live/Work/Lounge

On the market: 1417 15th Street, in the Inner Mission, the spectacular commercial photo space plus living quarters known as Big House Studio. Not to be confused with the George W. Hill film The Big House of 1930 but clearly the place to stage one's own daily version of Antonioni's Blow-Up. Owned by dot-com star Altura Ewers, who bought it in 2003 as a place to live in and to host digital projects and events in addition to photo and film shoots. There's also a gallery, and just to keep things perky, a coffee distributorship, Big House XL:

One of the best and most frequently booked studios in San Francisco, at one time owned by noted photographer Jock McDonald. Ewers bought it in 2003 for $1.6M as per PropertyShark; the original asking price we recall was $2.1M. Now asking $3.75M, a price presumably justified by studio revenues.
