At the end of October, we gave you a preview of Dwell's latest trophy pre-fabs, the Silver Lake Twins, an LA duo designed by New York-based Resolution:4 Architecture and manufactured by Empyrean. (We usually stay to ourselves here in NorCal, but given the local Dwell love, we're making an exception.) The Twins have yet to be built; the sale of both properties is a "land plus plans" deal, meaning that buyers will own the land only, including the rights to contract with Empyrean and Res:4 to finish the design and construction of their dream Dwell home.
In less than two months, the prices on these plans have fallen dramatically: 3422 Fernwood Avenue is the Alpha house. First listed at $349,000, it's price has now dropped to $295,000; its 7,362 square foot is slated to hold a 2,600 square foot, 3 bedroom, 3 bath home. A smaller, 3 bed/ 3 bath floor plan at 3426 Fernwood Avenue was on the market for $337,000; its price has fallen to $275,000. Opportunity is knocking ...
