Curbed SF fans responded zealously to yesterday's unveiling of Gluckman Mayer's preliminary CAMP design. Best in show:
God, I only hope that childish, immature drawing by Bogatay Architects is a joke. That's exactly the kind of crap our planning department loves. The other elegant, mature design has great possibilites...something modern, sleek, minimal that will not try to imitate the existing "army barracks" style that mostly exists in the Presidio. — Curbed SF reader neoarch SF Oh boy... it has all the presence of a Chevy dealership circa 1971 Wilshire Blvd. Los Angeles USA. Hate em both. It should at least rival the Menil Collection in Texas in both its style and articulation. White boxes stacked on white boxes swathed in creeping fig is a nice stage but it does not do enough to make it a destination. — Curbed SF reader murphoak
