SF Art Collectors Stash Art in Cave, Preserve Property

New, 1 comment

San Francisco art collectors Norman and Nora Stone have solved their storage problem by stashing their art in a cave, Batman style. See, Norm and Nora didn't want to disturb the Feng Shui of their Napa Valley property and so, inspired by friends' wine stashes, the couple hired NY-based architects Bade Stageberg Cox along with Renfro Design Group to design and build the low-pro, 5,750 square foot-plus hovel (which isn't, unfortunately, open to the public). Says Thea Westreich, their longtime art consultant: “They’re not your typical collectors, so why would they build a typical monument to themselves?” Don Fisher and Presidio preservationists alike, take heed.
