On the Market: Yerba Buena Loft, Design Cred

New, 1 comment

Scanning through today's Craig, the words "Award Winning Yerba Buena Loft" caught our eye. Sure enough, this listing wasn't in just any Yerba Buena loft, but THE Yerba Buena Lofts at 855 Folsom – another Stanley Saitowitz-designed harbinger of modernism to SoMa. Although the hype has died down around this building in the last few years, residents still seem quite pleased to live there. The available unit, shown in the horrible Craigslist-y photo above, looks like it sits on the more iconic, but much nosier, Folsom Street side. Listed at $699,000, the one bedroom, 1 1/2 bath, offers upgraded granite counters, stainless appliances, and a $400 HOA. It seems like prices in the Lofts have held steady for the past year, with 3 one-bedrooms available last march for between 600 - $700,000. So now you've got choices: 1234 Howard Street or the YBL? Stare into the mirror and repeat after us: Saitowitz, Saitowitz, Saitowitz!
