Look who's throwing a tantrum because biz ain't what it used to be: Toll Brothers, nation's largest builder of obscenely overdone luxury homes is blaming the New York Times (and the media in general) for the $250 to $450M write-down for last quarter, which he attributes in part to the press' negative influence on buyer's personal decisions. Chief Robert I. Toll has eschewed the construction business for academia, handing out letter grades to the company's markets. Nor Cal? D-minus, out of a possible F-minus-minus. Whew— just under the wire.
