Oakland Eichler Unscathed: 8050 Shay Drive

New, 1 comment

What ever do we have here? We were tipped to this 1965 Eichler set on a flat, 9,000 square foot lot in the Oakland hills. A single owner has lived at 8050 Shay Drive, which is described as "frozen in time," having remained in "original and pristine" condition— some appliances haven't even been used, claims the listing. $855,000 1,667 square feet; three bedrooms, two baths. A while back, the Curbed SF crowd went wild over this (admittedly exquisite) Oakland Eichler, restored by audiovisual designer Peter Rafanan; the majority felt that he stayed true to the original design during the process. 8050 Shay Drive = blank slate. Break out the chalk, people.
