Some may have received the recent Barneys "Have A Green Holiday" mailer? The one that features a $1065 Goyard "100% recyclable and made from natural materials without plastic or petrol" shopper? Or the World Changing book encased in a whimsical tote whose logo prompts one to "be the change"? Render that catalog into three dimensions, and there you have this most egregiously un-green holiday greenwashing campaign window display blaring its false message to shoppers schlepping along Stockton Street. (And what about that pervy tagline, anyway?) Green is the new black, says Barneys. We say its the new shill.
