The Minty Fresh Brigade: Rat Colony Returns

New, 4 comments

Seems that some unexpected guests crashed Friday night's party at Mint Plaza (or, more accurately, showed up afterwards). According to the Chron (not our imagination) the Minty Fresh Brigade (a.k.a. the regular troop of big, nasty city rats) came out to play. They are regulars on the Minty/ Chron building/ 5th Street bus stop scene, and often startle passers-by as such. The Brigade has grown recently, and the reason comes as no surprise: the use of rat poison was halted during interior demolition work (don't blame them at all for that decision). The Minty Fresh Brigade also recruited new troops following the rehab of a formerly vacant building nearby. Hold on, dear denizens: A counter-attack is imminent now that construction is wrapping up. And at the end of the day, though certainly not desirable, we must remember that rats and cities do tend to join ranks.
