Harsh! Santa Clara officials are convening this evening (in an ominous underground bunker, no doubt) to discuss a proposal that would eliminate subsidized housing planned for low income, senior, and disabled folks in order to lure the 49ers away from San Francisco. While Santa Clara's goal has been for 30% of new home construction in the city to remain "affordable," that figure is about to tank to 26%. Money, kids. It's all about the bills. [SF Examiner]
