Ghirardelli Square Update: It Is So On

And the deets are in: JMA Ventures, LLC, the SF-based investment firm that owns Ghirardelli Square is launching one motherlode of a redevelopment project— much bigger than we initially anticipated, in fact. Fairmont Heritage Place will offer 1/10th ownership on 53 luxury residences with 2/3-bedroom floor plans that max out at 1,900 square feet. Bells! Whistles! Ponies! Twelve foot ceilings, plasma screen TV's, exposed brick and timber, unobstructed views of Alcatraz and the Marin County Headlands. Greg Doman, Fairmont's V.P. considers the future development San Francisco's "preeminent urban private residence club." High end retail will rear its head, as will an impressive mix of restaurants (see Eater SF, natch). And to think how long we've all scoffed at Ghirardelli Square ... Not unlike 5th Street, right?
