Another Blow to Public Art

Artist Brett Cook's mural of Kathy and Larry Looper was recently torn down from the side of the Page Hotel and stuffed in a dumpster at the behest of the hotel's owner. Bad call: the neighborhood icon is a city-designated public art work owned by the 509 Cultural Center— not the hotel. Stuff of lawsuits, surely. [Beyond Chron]
