Laying Pipe: 650 Delancey Street #409

New, 9 comments

Tip of the hat to The Front Steps for scouting out 650 Delancey Street #409, a TIC conversion loft in South Beach situated in the former Oriental Warehouse, a mid-19th century import thruway. No. 409 is one of 66 lofts ranging from 1350-1800; this one measures up on the lower end of the scale at 1372 square feet. 2 beds, 2 baths. Asking: $1,099,000.

So now that we have that out of the way, we must wonder aloud: Anyone notice the rather excessive pipe work? Sounds trivial, but to us it's quite glaring; there's a fine line between "industrial chic" and "hospital Hepa Vac." What to do— a dropped ceiling? (Yuck.) New ductwork. There's gotta be a contractor who has the answer to this ... It's a shame, as this property is rather lovely otherwise, and $801 per square foot isn't so bad given the character of this building vs. the slew of white cubes on the market.
