Preserved! Marquees Granted Stay of Deterioration

Making one small leap for preservationists and theater buffs the city over, Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi introduced legislation yesterday that effectively lifts zoning regulations banning the reconstruction or restoration of marquees and other projecting signs. Two words: Special. Permit. Next up in the battle for cinematic preservation: how about some legislation requiring Le Video to offer VCRs for rent alongside their VHS tapes?
