Blackout Test on Bay Bridge

This week (as in, tomorrow) marks the anniversary of the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. Might the city have found a, we don't know, more sensitive time (like, say, Thursday or Friday) to do a freaking practice run on the Bay Bridge for the Saturday's upcoming Lights Out San Francisco event? Though the street lamps remained on to guide cars and the overhead navigation lamps to deter planes, the Bay Bridge's "architectural necklace" of lights went dark last night for 15 minutes in preparation for the event. Flash backs, panic attacks . . . good times all around.
