2100 Jefferson Street is a Spanish/Mediterranean-style, 5 bed, 4 bath behemoth, the last available sales figure for the house was in 1993 for $1.25 million. (It sold in '99 as well, but the price isn’t listed). The current asking price is $7,950,000 for this two level, 5,174 square-foot estate that sits on a 4,030 square-foot lot in the Marina. It’s right close to the Palace of Fine Arts, dudes in backwards baseball caps, sailboats, decent coffee, and National Landmark and environmental pioneer the Presidio. 2100 Jefferson is down with the environment as well, advertising ceiling insulation, insulated hot water heater, and low-flow toilets. It's even close enough to that 'PresidiGO' shuttle.
Other features are far less pedestrian: a "dog run," for instance. A gym. An atrium. Four fireplaces. Double doors. Wings (as in "the master bed occupies the upstairs east wing"). And the library is currently staged with a sort of wacky zebra stripe/polka dotted pillow/square pattern rug combo that made us a little dizzy. Unique and desirable? Certainly! Worth $1,536 a square foot? Well, that’s up to the super-rich target audience—we’ll certainly keep an eye on this one.
