Renovation Gone Wrong: William Wurster in Pac Heights

2870 Pacific Avenue

A quick tour around the neighborhood took us past two houses first designed by Bay Area modernist architect William Wurster, that have been renovated beyond/almost beyond recognition. 2870 Pacific Avenue we've looked at before. It recently got a massive injection of collagen, botox and a body peel by the firm of Walker-Warner. Very much in the "spirit" of Wurster; these guys clearly have a deft hand. Up a few houses from the Gettys and across the street from Peter Sperling's $65M limestone mansion, the Wurster house owned by Larry Ellison is once again a construction site, on what may be it's fourth remodel. (Although frankly, we've lost count.)
