Francophones on Franklin

1740 Franklin Street #3: A charming, renovated half-floor condo in a version of the Parisian flats put up by the mile (in Paris) by Baron Haussman in the 1860's. Second Empire Revival was all the rage in 1913; you can revive Gigi or La Boheme at home in 2007.

Beautiful building on a too-busy street, overlooks the landmark Victorians and the Christian Science church on the corners of Franklin and California. Leased parking, probably not in the building; fall out of bed and into Whole Foods instead. Most likely being sold by an investor/remodeler. As per PropertyShark, most recent transaction was in August 2006, when it was sold for $810K. On the market four days, $1,095,000.00
