Back on the market, and this time on the MLS, the spectacular 65 St.Germain shedding yet another quarter-million off the price and down to $4.25 million. It was originally offered six months ago at $6.75 million. And didn't even get its own website.
We suspect the original price and the lack of marketing dollars has more to with the current owner's expectations than the realtor's.
One clue to the mystery of how to get in and out of this cliff-hanger, besides walking up or down two flights worth of stone steps- apparently there's a shared driveway into the back of the property from Palo Alto Street leading to a garage. Which comes as such a relief. Built in 1936, it's a great house with what looks views from Point Reyes to Alameda and major rooms arranged around a courtyard. Feels more like Los Feliz or Montecito than San Francisco. Just more fog, of course.
