Taking the notion of "content" one step further, and joining the film, broadcast and music industries in restricting access to "content" the National Association of Realtors has declared property data is now content:
"photos, images, graphics, audio and video recordings, virtual tours, drawings, descriptions, remarks, narratives, pricing information, and other details or information related to listed property."
Under attack from the Justice Department and the focus of various state-level investigations, the real estate industry is continues to seek ways to limit access to property information on the internet and the MLS. The new policy goes into effect January 1, 2007.
