Kill 1/4 of Your Car

As expected, the supes voted to reduce the ratio of parking for new residential buildings from 1:1 to 1:.75. Newsom will most likely veto this, but everyone got to put on their various urban planning hats for the record. Aaron Peskin had an operatic moment when he got to accuse planner Larry Badiner -- who was reading a letter from not-at-the-hearing Planning Director Dean Macris -- of forgery. Seems Macris had changed his mind on certain points of the new rules. Peskin was peeved at having been blindsided by the absent Macris' volte face with nary a text message of warning.
