Albertson's closed 37 stores in the Bay Area, and now Ross is taking over many of the now vacant storefronts. According to the Chronicle, Ross has got big plans. The discount designer clothing (and housewares, too) retailer is embarking on it's biggest expansion in the Pleasanton based enterprise, ever. Ross isn't telling which stores they are going to take over, but in SF alone there are already four. Great, so these nabes where the Albertson's used to be may not have supermarkets anymore, but didn't Marie Antoinette once say "Let them eat marked down designer sweaters?"
