ALLAN TEMKO 1924-2006

We missed this one: the Pulitzer Prize-winning architecture critic for the Chronicle died last week.

"...Temko who first described... the Vaillancourt Fountain on the Embarcadero as resembling something "deposited by a concrete dog with square intestines."

Apparently he had a way with metaphors.
