For some time, we've been obsessed with the trend of one-bedrooms selling for upwards of $1 million. Now, it seems that $2 million one-bedrooms are increasingly common, although most are in recently built, uber-luxury buildings like the Millennium. The city's latest very expensive one-bedroom is a somewhat different case. Unit 2204 at 611 Washington Street, the Montgomery Washington Tower, was built back in 1984, and it looks like it hasn't been touched since then. The kitchen in particular is straight out of the 1980s, and although the building has amenities such as a pool, they too are starting to feel a bit dated.
Highlights of the living space are floor-to-ceiling windows with views that start at the Transamerica Pyramid next door and stretch out to Coit Tower and the bay. The unit is huge, at 1,857 square feet, and the brokerbabble mentions that it could easily be converted to a two-bedroom, which makes the huge price a little easier to swallow. However, it also comes with enormous HOA dues of $2,066 per month that cover concierge service, a health club, and the lap pool. One parking space also comes included.
