We all love Golden Gate Park and Dolores Park, but did you know San Francisco has over 220 parks and open spaces? Curbed SF wants to bring fame and glory to some of the smaller, lesser-known parks, and we're doing so with our series Park Life. Each week we'll spotlight a different San Francisco park or open space, and bring you all the details you need to plan a visit.

As the name gives away, this underutilized park is indeed atop a hill located in San Francisco's Bayview neighborhood. The park offers views of both the Bay and and the adjacent valleys. The well-maintained park also features some rare offerings that will appeal to people of many ages and interests. Where it's located: In the Bayview neighborhood along La Salle Avenue and Whitney Young Circle. A small portion also meets Hudson and Newcomb avenues.
What it features: The park offers standard amenities like picnic areas, grassy areas for athletics, and concrete plazas. Some more interesting features include concrete slides and a skating bowl. There is a gigantic 70 foot sundial that also doubles as a performance stage for the attached amphitheater seating.
How to get there: For light rail take the T-Third to Oakdale/Palou Station, leaving you about a four block walk from there. Prefer the bus? The 44 and 54 lines will drop you within one block.
Dogs allowed?: Dogs are allowed. Presumably it is leash-only, but we saw no indication to support our theory.
Don't miss: A chance to take advantage of the charms of the park. If you or your child are a skateboarder head over to the city's first skatepark. If your children are a little younger have them do some laps up and down the imposing, yet extremely fun concrete slides. The park is big and diverse enough to provide entertainment to anyone looking for some outdoor fun.
