PARK(ing) Day started in 2005 right here in San Francisco, and now it's an annual open-source global event where citizens, artists, architects and activists temporarily transform metered parking spaces into temporary public places. Yes, they're just like parklets, except they don't cost thousands of bucks to create and they only last a day. Above, a gallery we shot today of our favorites. Enjoy!
