We sure love our EIR appeals here in San Francisco, and today is no different as the Supes will hear the appeal of the Final Environmental Impact Report for the California Pacific Medical Center Long Range Development Plan Project. Certified back in April, the plan calls for new hospitals at Van Ness & Geary and the current St. Lukes site, and an addition to the Davies Medical Center near Duboce Park. The environmental review has been appealed by a whole slew of groups, including the California Nurses Association/National Nurses United, Council of Community Housing Organizations, Cathedral Hill Neighbors Association, Bernal Heights Neighborhood Center, Jobs with Justice San Francisco, and San Franciscans for Healthcare, Housing, Jobs and Justice (phew). Their concerns range from traffic impacts to inadequate alternatives. [SF Gov/Photo: SF Planning]
