A parking lot at 24th and Sanchez has been home to the Noe Valley Farmer's Market for the last 8 years, and most residents feel that it's become "the heart of a vibrant urban community." The lot's now up for sale, and the Friends of Noe Valley Town Square are rallying to raise money to purchase and preserve the lot as an open space park (see rendering to the right). How much dough? $4M, $2M of which will be provided by the City's Open Space Fund. The group's raised approximately $150,000 so far, with a pretty significant chunk pledged from First Republic Bank. Care to help them along the way? Donation page is here. [Noe Valley SF]
