The lease for a new police substation at 72 Sixth Street is up for final vote at the Board of Supervisors tomorrow. As part of Mayor Lee's plan to revitalize the Mid-Market area, roughly $300,000 has already been set aside for the project via the now-defunct redevelopment agency. The lease for the 1,932 sq ft ground floor space will commence December 1, 2012, with a stipulation after six months of operation the Police Department has to provide the Supervisors with a report outlining operational strategies for the neighborhood.
