The Most Expensive San Francisco Home of the Year

As is our yearly tradition, it's time to make up a bunch of awards and hand them out to the most deserving and important people, places and things in the real estate, architecture and neighborhood universes of San Francisco!

The 4-story, 6-bed, 5-full, and 2-half bath mega mansion clocks in at a spacious 11,000 square feet. The home was designed in 1922 by San Francisco starchitect Fredrick H. The property first showed its face (and its price) when it landed on the market in mid-2009 with an asking price of $39,500,000. Chump change, right? Apparently too much change, readers, because it was later PriceChopped to a completely reasonable and obtainable $33,900,000. Shoot forward to early November of 2011 and the big and beautiful abode sold for a mind-boggling $29,500,000. But hey, that's the price you've got to pay to live on Billionaire's Row, which features the majority of San Francisco's most expensive single-family homes that are currently for sale on the open market.
