25 and 35 Dolores Street is currently home to two (shuttered since 2006) auto repair shops that have been there since 1917 and 1918. Last night the City Planning Commission moved a project forward that would allow a four-story, 47-unit residential building to be built on the site by Levy Design Partners. The next step is the commission's approval for 40 underground parking spaces, which is 5 more spots than typically allowed in such a transit-friendly area. The project is expected to be completed in 15 months with an anticipated cost of $10,000,000.
