We managed to miss this when it broke, but 1844 Market St in fact no longer belongs to developer BayRock, as we mentioned yesterday. The proud new owner is none other than Joe Cassidy, developer of The Palms in SoMa, who bought the site way, way back in 2007. Optimism abounds, judging by the words he gave the SF Business Times about building in a down economy: "That is the million-dollar question: Am I going to catch the rising tide?" [SFBT, previously]
