Not So Fast at the Cafe
Thursday, March 27, 2008, by Sarah Hromack

27Mar08_Cafe.jpgLess than a week after The Cafe won its long-sought building permits— expect a three-story addition, takeout, and 7 days per week's worth of revelry— the nabe has already issued a forewarning. Quoted in today's Bay Area Reporter, a neighbor once hostile to The Cafe dashed off the following in an email: 'We can have the peaceful and quiet enjoyment of our homes in an urban, thriving environment.' However, he wrote, 'the Cafe's current, or future management, would be naive to think that residents would not be swift in responding to any violations.'" Never underestimate the power of a friendly threat, delivered with a smile (or from behind the safety of a computer screen). [BAR via Eater SF]
