PSA, prefab whores: Pack up your reusable tote, affix your designer eye wear, and be off with yourselves. A very brave couple— an IDEO engineer and designer, respectively, and therefore prefab whores themselves, no doubt— will open their Mountain View home to the drooling, style-conscious masses this week for a series of public tours hosted by Dwell. The prefab, also known as NextHouse, the spawn of the love affair between the magazine and manufacturer Empyrean, will be bombarded by scores of gawkers over the course of the weekend (tickets here). Expect a quintessentially Dwell-like marriage of clean lines, sustainable materials, and every and anything else green.
