City Slaps Owners With Fines They Likely Won't Pay
Tuesday, March 18, 2008, by Sarah Hromack

It looks like the Department of Building Inspection is doing it's job— or at least making a public gesture to indicate as much. A couple of Mission residential hotels are finally feeling the burn for failing to fight drug activity and for renting illegal units; collectively, they've been slapped with $675,000 in fines. Says the District Attorney: Stop selling drugs! Stop renting illegal units! Wrist, wrist, wrist, slap, slap, slap. Screw the mission, you say? Guess you didn't buy at the Citrino. [SF Examiner]
