Oh, Canada. (Note the conspicuous lack of an exclamation point there.) Wanting an "outsider's opinion" on the topic of homelessness in San Francisco, the Chron's C.W. Nevius appealed to Ontario resident and "appalled" tourist Christine Oaster: "It's stunning to me," she said. "I'm a well-traveled girl. I've been to Europe, the Mediterranean and New York. How can San Francisco, that claims to be this tourist mecca, let this happen?" According to Nevius, the problem lies in part with a "disconnect over what's happening on the street and the perception." Oaster clarifies: "I'm from Canada," she said. "I accept the snow.
