Curbed Inside: The Hayes

[Not earthquake resistant. Work-in-progress at The Hayes.]

Hard hats: the must-have accessory for fall 2007. A recent fact-finding mission at The Hayes, at 55 Page Street (MLS: 6b; GPS: Lat. 3777.459, Long. -122.417.406) yielded the following facts, statistical and otherwise. For the number crunchers:

· As of today, 60% of the units are sold, including the $1.3M penthouse. As listed, studios start at $400K, 1 bedroom units at $590K, and 2 bedrooms at $790K.
· Units on floors 4-8 include individual balconies, while level 3 features a terrace. A communal 4,298 square foot roof deck promises good times for all.
· Built in 1908, the Hayes was once a horse stable. Think about that as you enjoy the rumored high-end restaurant, along with other outlets-to-come, that will occupy the 12K square feet of retail space on the ground floor. Our vote: Whole Foods, naturally.

Former stable, future retail.

Future studio; note the almost floor-to-ceiling windows. Electrical wiring prevents a full-on glass experience.

As per code, wooden windows must be installed within these arches, which will also be covered in new wood. Note: they are later additions (i.e. not 1908 survivors)

And the views...

1.

I think you've fallen victim to their marketing...it is actually at 55 Page St, not Hayes St.

[Ed.note] Thanks; appended. Perhaps you're right though: The developer didn't notice it, either.
