On the heels of San Francisco’s 10 most popular Instagram spots, the fine folks at Instagram shared with Curbed SF the top 25 most geotagged businesses in San Francisco. And, yes, In-N-Out made the cut. (Whew.)
Many of the businesses on the list are concert venues. Makes sense. Many a concertgoer, dressed to the nines with hair ever-so carefully tousled, tends to snap a shot of the concert on the stage as well as a few selfies. (Note: One shot of the stage will suffice, Instagrammers. A flood of blurry shots of Stevie Nicks from the back row rarely makes for a pleasurable feed experience.)
Similarly, nightclubs landed on the list because an evening out on the town with pals simply must be documented on social media. Add a few tequila shots and said documentation turns into an epic saga on Instagram.
A few restaurants also made the cut, including—surprise!—the Cheesecake Factory at Union Square’s Macy’s. Though not for their signature cheesecakes or mass-produced fare, the eatery’s views are what helped make this joint an Instagram must.
And finally, it’s important to note that any brick-and-mortar opening in 2017 needs to focus on their business’s Instagrammable moment(s), à la the Westfield Centre. According to Instagram, 60 percent of people learn about products and services on Instagram, while 75 percent of people take action after being inspired by an Instagram post.
